“English Skills for College” at HCC is a comprehensive course designed to enhance students’ language proficiency and academic writing abilities. Tailored for college-level success, the course focuses on refining essential English skills, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and essay composition. Through interactive lessons and targeted exercises, students develop critical thinking, analytical reading, and effective communication skills. This program will teach students to use English in meaningful ways to communicate ideas, solve problems, participate in life on campus and in the community, and prepare them for successful study in a Canadian college.
The goal of this program is to help students to acquire the English language skills necessary to take other programs in college or function in an English work environment.
