Students who enroll in a language program which is six months or less in duration or for which tuition is less than $4,000 may not make a claim against the student tuition protection fund, which is managed by the Private Training Institution Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training. Overview

“English Skills for College” at HCC is a comprehensive course designed to enhance students’ language proficiency and academic writing abilities. Tailored for college-level success, the course focuses on refining essential English skills, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and essay composition. Through interactive lessons and targeted exercises, students develop critical thinking, analytical reading, and effective communication skills. Emphasizing both practical and theoretical aspects, the course equips students with the tools needed for success in various college disciplines. Engaging instructors facilitate a supportive learning environment, fostering confidence in written and spoken English. Whether preparing for college entry or aiming to improve existing skills, this course empowers students for academic achievement and beyond.

Career Opportunities

The goal of this program is to help students to acquire the English language skills necessary to take other programs in college or function in an English work environment.

This program is not eligible for the Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.
